YETI stands for Youth Empowered Towards Independence and is a social support service that targets young people from 12 to 25 who are 'at risk' of drug abuse and homelessness. SSAY-IT is one of YETI's programs designed to support young people of diverse genders, sexes and sexualities.
Diverse genders, sexes and sexualities may include but are definitely not limited to - Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Pansexual, Gender Fluid, Trans, Intersex, Queer, BrotherBois, SistaGirls, and people who are Questioning.
The group is confidential and discreet and offers a range of fun, social activities and outings to help meet and network with other diverse young people. Through the group there are also opportunities for one-on-one counselling and advocacy support, participating in relevant workshops, and getting information and advice about sex, sexuality or gender issues, relationships, and the law.
SSAY-IT Youth Group happens weekly for 2 hours at varying locations with the option of transport to support young people to get to and from group.
